Savannah, GA – The Savannah State Tigers hold their first scrimmage of the season on Saturday, August 8th. This year will be a big rebuilding season after coming off of a rough season last year. The Tigers have a young team with around thirty sophomores and forty freshman. But Coach Wilson and the staff are ready to build a strong team and prove it to the fans.

Savannah State Football Team To Hold First Preseason Scrimmage
SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State football team, under the direction of head coach Earnest Wilson III, will hold their first scrimmage of the fall on Saturday, August 8, beginning at 9:45 a.m. at Memorial Stadium.
The public is invited to attend what is expected to a very spirited workout for the Tigers.
The team will workout from 9:45 a.m. until around 11:15 a.m. A coaches and players clinic is scheduled to precede the scrimmage and will begin at 9 a.m.
The coaching staff will use the scrimmage to evaluate the entire team as the Tigers continue to prepare for their 2015 season opener at Colorado State on September 5.
The team will attend church and will have picture day on Sunday.
Classes at the University are set to begin on August 10 and the team will resume practice on August 11 at 7 a.m.
