With new information, members of the FBI’s Violent Crime Task Force and robbery detectives from Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department ask the public’s continued aid in the search for the armed gunman who robbed a Wells Fargo Bank branch last Friday afternoon.
Investigators believe that in addition to the ball cap and surgical mask that concealed his face, the suspect wore a long wig as part of his disguise when he walked into the bank on the 5700 block of Waters Avenue, produced a handgun and demanded money. He fled on foot at 12:45 p.m. No injuries were reported.
FBI Investigators advise that the suspect is armed and dangerous. Anyone coming in contact with him should call law enforcement immediately.
Individuals with information on this case are asked to call the FBI at (912) 790-3100, Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637) using the keyword CSTOP2020. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
A tip line also is open directly to SCMPD investigators at (912) 525-3124. Most area clergy have agreed to serve as liaisons for anyone who would like to share information with police anonymously.
