WEST SAVANNAH – A community is coming together to remember one of their own—and now they’re saying enough is enough.

Police found 38-year-old Ricardo “Ricky” Morris’ body early Saturday morning on Laroche avenue near Isle of Hope and are now investigating his death as a homicide.

On Wednesday, his friends, family and neighbors held a vigil in his honor to call for an end to the violence.

“Get out there, let’s help and make a difference in our community,” said his mother, Brenda Curtis. “We can’t keep looking for other people to do this.  We live here so this is what we have to do.”

Ricky’s funeral will be held on Saturday at 11 am at the First Bryan Baptist Church in Yamacraw Village.

His family asks anyone who plans to attend to wear bright colors to celebrate the vibrant person he was, but request that no one wear t-shirts.
