VIDEO: Excavation of the CSS Georgia

The Navy along with the Army Corps of Engineers are currently excavating the sunken Confederate ironclad vessel CSS Georgia.

The dive teams brought up cannonballs and are working to remove four canons from the bed of the Savannah River where it was scuttled in 1864 to prevent the Union forces from taking it.

The excavation will continue until all historical remnants are found.  News 3 will follow the progress and bring you more as the efforts conclude.
