CHARLESTON, SC – The Coast Guard has rescued four boaters, including two 11-year-old children, off the South Carolina coast after their fishing boat was found overturned.
The four were reported overdue from an offshore fishing trip late Sunday.
The Coast Guard said the overturned boat was found about 13 miles off Charleston about 6:30 on Monday morning by the crew of a C-130 plane dispatched from Elizabeth City, N.C.
U.S. Coast Guard Southeast Twitter account said at 10:30 a.m. Monday that the four were found and were being brought back to Charleston.
The Coast Guard said the 23-foot fishing craft had left from a boat landing in Mount Pleasant.
