Comcast says it’s launching a new streaming video service called Stream, as younger customers look to cut the cord with cable.
The nation’s largest cable company says Stream will be available to its Internet customers for an additional $15 a month.
Anyone using the service will be able to watch live TV from about a dozen networks, including HBO on smartphones, tablets and laptops.
Comcast says it will launch Stream in Boston later this summer, followed by Chicago and Seattle later this year, and plans for a nationwide roll-out by early next year.
Comcast-NBC Universal is the parent company of NBC.
