Man Wears Spiderman Mask During Robbery In Hinesville

A brazen armed robbery took place Saturday afternoon at a local Hinesville restaurant by a man wearing a Spiderman mask.

According to Hinesville Police Department Detective Joshua Heath, the man entered the Wing Stop located in the 400 block of west Gen. Screven Way wearing a long sleeve dark shirt, blue jeans and a Spiderman mask as the restaurant was getting ready to close around 5 p.m.

The masked assailant approached a male employee and asked him if he knew what was going on and struck him on the left side of his head with what is believed to have been a handgun.

The suspect proceeded to rifle through the stores safe and took $3,000 in cash and ran out of the back door.

A witness said they saw a dark Ford Focus speed out of the parking lot but did not see the direction of travel.

The robbery was caught on surveillance video but will not be available until Monday.
