Senator Clementa Pinckney Killed in Mass SC Shooting

UPDATE: Nine Dead After Shooting at Charleston Church (Image 2)

South Carolina State Senator Clementa Pinckney from Jasper County has been killed.

He was one of the nine killed in the mass shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston. Pinckney was the pastor of the church.

He was ordained at 18. He served as a pastor at Youngs Chapel AME Church in Irmo, Jericho and Porter’s Chapel AME Churches in Beaufort, Mt. Horr AME Church in Yonges Island and Campbell Chapel AME Church in Bluffton.

Pinckney has sponsored or co-sponsored the following legislation this session:
