Trade Bill Battle

(NBC News) Friday, President Obama lost on the trade bill he backs.

More than three quarters of democrats in the House voted no, blocking action on the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

They argued that it would help Asian firms sell cheaper goods and cheaper commodities here in the U.S., but would hurt American workers.

The president motorcaded to the Capitol Friday to personally lobby democrats, but even Nancy Pelosi voted no.

Obama loyalists were stunned.

Big unions that help re-elect democrats hate the trade deal.

Republican leaders pushed fast track, but the Obama bill got blocked by most House republicans as well.
