(Savannah) – Savannah State University quarterback coach Russell DeMasi is full of energy on the field at Wright Stadium as the Tigers host a football camp for young student-athletes.  His energy and enthusiasm is just what SSU needs to help spark a program continuing to build for the future.  DeMasi was hired a few months ago by head coach Earnest Wilson, III.

DeMasi graduated from Savannah Christian Prep School… helping head coach Donald Chumley start to build a local Single-A dynasty.  He went on to Georgia Southern to play for Chris Hatcher and then Jeff Monken.  He was a quarterback that didn’t see a lot of game action… but he made the most of the learning experience.

After graduation, DeMasi headed to Shorter University as a grad assistant and assistant coach.  He’s back in HIS town.. ready to help spark the Savannah State Tigers in the right direction.
