Local non-profit “Fit Families USA” helped several families get an active start to their Saturday morning!

They hosted “Family Fit Day” in Daffin park.

The event was created to show people that getting fit can be fun–especially when the whole family is involved!!

And the best part?!–You only needed one-dollar to register!

There were activities to get the entire family involved like: jump-rope, hula-hoops, line-dancing and even bubble soccer!

The organizer of the event tells News 3 she was happy with the community turnout…

“Seeing the people and the families that come out today to do this type of event, that is my high, that is my reward,” said Marilyn Ward, Founder of Fit Families USA.

…And community seemed to enjoy themselves as well. Donya Reese told News 3 she, along with her two grand children, participated in the walk.

“…We had a big day! Yes, I walked and walked around!” (Are you having fun?) “Yes!”

The money raised today will be used to help fight obesity– in adults and children-here in the united states.
