Jesup Police Investigating Possible Drowning

According to Jesup Police Chief Glenn Takaki, a 12-year-old boy was found unresponsive in a Jesup swimming pool today.

Wayne County EMS Director Richard Johnson said when emergency medical personnel arrived on scene, the lifeguards who found him were performing CPR which Johnson said saved the child’s life.

Johnson said emergency personnel were able to establish a heartbeat and bring his blood pressure up.

He was transported to Wayne Memorial and later to Memorial Health in Savannah.

He is currently in the pediatric ICU
