Operators at the Savannah Chatham County 911 Center were surprised and pleased by a visit from a 6th grader on Friday.
The youngster was there to deliver a hand written note apologizing for making a prank call. In the note, the student said he made the call after a dare from friends,
His parents found out and ordered him to write the apology then drove him to the 911 Center to read it aloud to the on duty workers.
The 911 staff was impressed with the way the parents handled the incident, so much so that they took the boy and his parents on a tour of the facility.
The visit also gave 911 Operators the chance to show the student how prank calls interrupt work and can take first responders away from legitimate emergencies.
