Car company creates ‘luminous’ model that glows for 10 hours thanks to UV paint.
Right now, the only way to spot a car on a dark country road is by its lights. But Nissan has created a car that glows in the dark on the roads to become more visible. The Japanese car manufacturer is the first to apply UV absorbing paint on a production car.
Nissan says the UV paint is all from a secret formula made up of organic materials. They call the paint Starpath. It’s sprayed on the car. The paint then absorbs UV energy from the sun throughout the day.
The paint then glows between 8 and 10 hours when it’s nighttime.
The paint, however, won’t be available just yet. The reason why is because the ingredients can’t be used on a large scale. But get this… you as an individual can apply the paint to your own car. You simply buy UV car wraps. Your car will then glow in the dark.
Nissan claims the paint will last as long as 25 years.
