Kleinlein spoke with WSAV’s Ken Slats during the Eagles workout in Tiger Town. He says the University’s Bowl waiver request was denied… but that GSU immediately submitted an appeal. The appeal would most likely be handed down early next week, but could be sooner.
“One of the arguments I made is if that exemption exists (Not enough Bowl eligible teams based on record) and we can be in the pool in that situation, then why can’t we be in the pool in the situation where there’s enough Bowl teams as a Conference Champion. To me, I think the Conference Champion thing kind of sets this whole thing in motion.”
The GSU Eagles are preparing for Saturday evening’s final Sun Belt Conference game again the University of Louisiana-Monroe. Kickoff set for shortly after 6 pm.
