Savannah State Tigers just about done re-grouping after their opening night loss at Middle Tennessee. Not that far up the road, Saturday night they’ll travel to Statesboro for a game with Georgia Southern.
The Tigers wrapped up their last full day of practice Thursday before Friday’s walk thru and Saturday’s game. There’s a lot of learning going on in Thunderbolt with over 40 freshman on the roster. So 61-7 lopsided games like last weeks at Middle Tennessee are kinda expected. All part of the learning curve and Coach Earnest Wilson says he’s seen it before and its all correctable.
“It’s just coming off slow getting off of the ball. Because they were the bigger kid or whatever. They could knock somebody down. They didn’t play with the fast motion. So what we’re trying to do is get them to play a lot faster.” says Wilson in his 2nd year at Savannah State.
Quarterback Ker-Sean Wilson says, it’s time to move on from last week. “Basically have a quick memory of letting it go and moving on. Wanting to be successful We learn from it and put it behind us.”
Kickoff set for 6pm in Statesboro on Saturday night.
