The Panthers have opened their arms and invited Penn State coaches to camp next week on the GSU campus. According the NCAA rules, schools can’t run camps more than 50 miles outside of their own campus. But the Nittany Lions staff is just “guests” of Georgia State. Next year Notre Dame coaches are scheduled to come to camp as “guests” of Georgia State.
Currently SEC rules don’t allow their coaches to even attend camps outside 50 miles of their campuses.
It’s this “skirting” of the rules that has Georgia’s Mark Richt and Georgia Tech’s Paul Johnson just a little uneasy with the current practice.
