(Savannah) – Mike Huggins stole home with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning… triggering a wild celebration as Benedictine beat Lovett 4-3 in the series opener in Savannah. Huggins and the Cadets swarmed the field celebrating “The Steal”. It was a year ago that BC won in dramatic fashion, thanks to the “The Catch” by centerfielder Brad Stewart. That was also in the GHSA Elite 8.

Benedictine cruised to a Game Two win, 6-1 to move onto the Final Four. They’ll host the series next Monday against the winner of the Wesleyan/Cook series. (Game 3 tomorrow).
Carrollton eliminates Statesboro, 5-2 and 7-3
Wayne County (2-1) and Alexander (4-0) split.
Pierce County (9-5) and Hart County (5-3) split.
Benedictine eliminates Lovett, 4-3 and 6-1.
Charlton County eliminates ECI, 5-0.
