WSAV has learned that the proposals for the Savannah Stadium Project are NOT on the docket for this coming Thursday’s City Council meeting. While the agenda hasn’t officially been released, Sand Gnats owner (Hardball Capital) Jason Freier says he expected the subject to be part of this meeting.

“I was under the impression that it would be dealt with at the next meeting,” says Freier. “Anything that pushes the timeline back can affect the confidence in moving forward.”
Freier hopes to get approval and have Savannah move forward with building the Sand Gnats a new stadium. Just a couple of weeks ago, Columbia City Council (SC) approved the building of a stadium in the Palmetto State. Freier insists he wishes to move another team to Columbia and keep the Sand Gnats in Savannah. But without the City moving forward the move could become inevitable.
