In advance of its third major expansion in less than a year, The Clubhouse in Statesboro has broken ground on a new eco-friendly Go Cart track – the Coca-Cola 125 Raceway. A groundbreaking ceremony was held today, and construction by Lavender and Associates, Inc., is already underway. The raceway facility is expected to be open for business in early summer.
The Coca-Cola 125 Raceway, sponsored by Statesboro Coca-Cola Bottling Co., is the only one of its kind in Southeast Georgia. The raceway takes drivers on a 1.25 mile adventure, and features 28 of the industry's most advanced fully electric, environmentally friendly go carts. The attraction combines the level of excitement you get with video racing with the real-life sounds and sensation of a professional racing course. Each cart features an on board audio system with accelerator-sensitive stock car engine sounds, driver controlled turbo boost, wirelessly controlled messages that instruct racers on track rules and driving technique, and a pit sound system that hypes the race for spectators.
Not only does the new track add another entertainment option to The Clubhouse's attractions, it also adds new construction jobs for Bulloch County, 20 more Clubhouse employees, and is expected to draw customers not only from Bulloch County, but surrounding counties as well.
“We're always looking for new ways to create the most entertaining experience possible for our guests, and to attract new visitors from miles around to Statesboro,” said Darin Van Tassell, owner. “The Coca-Cola 125 Raceway experience will provide a thrill unlike anything in our area. We look forward to seeing how much fun our returning guests have and to seeing lots of new faces.” He went on to say, “Our goal is always to have folks come here for a great time and leave with more fun memories than they could have imagined.”
Dennis Key, Sales Center Manager, Coca-Coca Bottling Company United, Inc. said, “Coca-Cola is proud to sponsor the Coca-Cola 125 Raceway. Darin and Netra continue to do a phenomenal job of developing this facility and continually adding to its appeal. The Clubhouse has become the go-to spot in our area for entertainment seekers of all ages, and does such a wonderful job of promoting the smiles and fun spirit Coca-Cola is all about.”
In addition to The Coca-Cola 125 Raceway, The Clubhouse's 30 acre sports and entertainment complex features a 42,000 square foot indoor facility with 24 lanes of bowling, including 4 luxury lanes in a private party suite, as well as a state-of-the-art arcade, “Evasion Training Center”, mini bowling, laser tag arena, and Ballocity Indoor Playground. Other features include a championship mini golf course, golf practice range, batting cages, a Sports Academy, and full service pro shop. The newly remodeled and expanded Spikes Sports Grill and Bar features a completely new menu, along with beer and wine for guests 21 and older. The Clubhouse also has space for meetings, parties and other special events. For more information, visit www.ClubhouseStatesboro.com.
