Two Win Week Earns Frederick League Honors

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After going 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA in three
games last week, Georgia Southern sophomore righthander Ryan Frederick was
named the Southern Conference's Pitcher of the Week for March 24th.

Frederick earned the win in the Eagles' 14-5 victory over
#13 Clemson last Tuesday. The Springfield, Ga. native allowed just one run over
three innings and scattered three hits and one walk in his first mid-week start
of the year.

Frederick appeared twice against Appalachian State on the
weekend and combined to hold the Mountaineers scoreless over 2.1 innings. The
sophomore righthander did not allow a hit over the two outings and struck out a
combined three batters.

Frederick picked up his second win of the week on Sunday
after GSU rallied from a 7-3 deficit with a seven-run eighth inning. He retired
all six batters he faced in order and struck out two in the ninth inning to
secure the series victory over Appalachian State.

Frederick is the first Eagle pitcher to win the award since
Chris Beck on April 2, 2012. Frederick and the Eagles will be back in action
Tuesday at North Florida.
