Mauk led the Braves to the Class A South Carolina Independent School Association state title his first season in Savannah.

Mauk comes from a football family.  His brother, Maty, played a key role as a quarterback on the Missouri Tigers.  They finished the season 12-2 with a win over Oklahoma State in the Cotton Bowl.

ADDITIONAL STATEMENT FROM BIBLE BAPTIST ATHLETIC DIRECTOR BRAD BOCHETTE WEDNESDAY EVENING:

The purpose of this correspondence is to let the members of
the press know that Jonathan Mauk has resigned as Head Football Coach at Bible
Baptist School.  The decision is a mutual one between Coach Mauk and the
school.  We are grateful for the two years that Coach Mauk guided our
program.  He brought an exciting style of football to the school and was
able to capture the SCISA A State Championship in his first season.
During his tenure, the student-athletes at Bible Baptist enjoyed tremendous
success on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. Coach Mauk has a
bright future and the BBS family wishes him well in his future endeavors.
Bible Baptist, which has established itself as a premiere athletic program in
the Savannah area, will begin the search for Coach Mauk's replacement right
away.
