Savannah State University's baseball team is heading to the NCAA Tournament and several local players are along for the ride.

Nearly one quarter of the Tigers are from our area.  Infielder Todd Hagen leads the way with a .320 batting average.  Hagen starred at Appling County High School.

Catcher Chris Arnold is an anchor behind the plate for the Tigers.  He played at Liberty County High School.

Eric Ricks is 3-1 with a 2.76 earned run average.  He's the go-to-guy out of the bullpen for the Tigers.

Calvary grad Skylar Strickland and infielder Zach Bryant from Windsor Forest High School are ready in a pinch to help the Tigers' success.

Head coach Carlton Hardy also has Long County High School grad Tommy Freeman and Jenkins High School TJ Page to turn to.

The Tigers open up Regional play in Tallahassee against Florida State Friday at 5pm.
