Calvary tight end Milan Richard has ended the recruiting barrage and verbally committed to Clemson University. Reached by phone tonight, Richard tells WSAV that it's “..great to be 100 percent committed and it's a big relief to be able to focus on Calvary and win as many games as possible.
Richard caught 27 passes for 400 yards and 5 touchdowns last season for the Cavaliers.
“I'm very thankful for all the schools that showed interest in me,” added Richard.
He visited Clemson, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina State and Florida.
“I chose Clemson mainly for the coaching staff and their offense is similar to Calvary's.”
Richard was recruited by Jeff Scott, son of former Clemson and South Carolina coach Brad Scott. His position coach with the Tigers will be Danny Pearman. Richard says he received 21 full scholarship offers.
Richard is the nephew of former Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker.
